Strings form one of the crucial components of all stringed instruments, whether they are strings for electric or acoustic guitar strings or for bass. Strings come in different gauges in the guitar range e.g. from very thin (7s) to thick 13(s) strings. The thinner the strings, the easier they are to play, but the sound differs significantly from stronger strings. Thin strings also tend to break more quickly.
